Vision Based Real-Time Traffic Sensing Using AI on General Purpose Embedded Hardware

A vision and image processing technologies with artificial intelligence have been utilized to estimate traffic intensity in real-time. A deep neural network was trained using a training image set where traffic intensity was specified by an expert on a predefined scale. Trained DNN was tested for a test image sets. The presented method targets general purpose, low cost hardware.
