As part of UoM Research Week 2024, The Enterprise, in partnership with TRACE, successfully organized the UoM Research Week Industry Forum 2024, themed “Let’s Solve Together.” Held on December 3, 2024, at TRACE, this landmark event aimed to bridge the gap between academia and industry, fostering dynamic partnerships to unlock innovative solutions and drive mutual growth.
The University of Moratuwa (UoM), recognized as one of Sri Lanka’s premier technical universities, is renowned for its expertise across diverse fields, including Architecture, Business, Engineering, Information Technology, and Medicine. A key objective of the university is to support industry growth through active collaboration. However, the lack of platforms for engagement often leaves the challenges faced by industries unaddressed, missing opportunities for innovation.
This forum served as a platform to address this gap, bringing together academics, industry leaders, and passionate individuals to openly discuss pressing challenges and explore collaborative opportunities. The event saw the active participation of 100+ attendees, enabling meaningful dialogue between academia and industry, highlighting how shared challenges can transform into innovative solutions.
Key Outcomes:
One of the major highlights of the event was the launch of Enterprise Connect—a dedicated platform designed to facilitate collaboration between industry and academia. This initiative positions The Enterprise as a mediator, ensuring successful partnerships through continuous monitoring and follow-up until tangible outcomes are achieved.
