On January 21, 2025, the Enterprise of the University of Moratuwa proudly participated in the Research Support Program organized at the University of Moratuwa. Serving as a resource team, we shared our expertise in the areas of Intellectual Property (IP) and Research Commercialization, highlighting the critical pathways from innovation to impactful real-world applications.
Our contributions focused on:
- Intellectual Property Awareness: Educating researchers on the importance of IP protection, including patents, copyrights, and trademarks, to safeguard their innovative ideas.
- Commercialization Strategies: Guiding participants on how to transition research outcomes into market-ready technologies, emphasizing licensing, startup creation, and industry partnerships.
- Support Mechanisms: Introducing the role of The Enterprise as a facilitator, providing researchers with the tools, guidance, and platforms required to navigate the commercialization journey effectively.
This program exemplifies the university’s commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and empowering researchers to transform their work into meaningful societal and economic contributions.
By actively engaging in such initiatives, The Enterprise continues to strengthen the bridge between academic research and industry, promoting innovation-driven development in Sri Lanka.
