Easy to dress therapeutic garment adapt to body size variations
This invention comprises of two front panels and one back panel that can be attached and detached at the side seams and shoulders to facilitate convenient dressing and undressing without the necessity of executing normal dressing movements. This invention further facilitates the wearer to adjust width and length as desired to accommodate width-wise and length-wise body size changes. Further, this invention comprises special features to support physiotherapists or doctors to examine the wearer’s body when needed making it easy to perform therapeutic functions without unnecessary body exposure. To improve the comfort of the wearer this invention avoids shoulder seams and side seams included in conventional clothing thereby preventing seam-related inflammations and itching. In addition, there are features to improve safety for wheelchair users. Therefore, the present invention meets the need in the differently-abled individual’s life to be independent, convenient, and conventional in appearance.
In order to develop the present invention lightweight, skin-soothing, breathable, highly absorbance, less ornamented, thermal resistant fabrics are more suitable. In addition, special Ayurvedic-treated fabrics can be used to avoid inflammations. When developing the present invention, hard seams need to be avoided. Therefore, using flat seams, open plain seams are suitable. In order to minimize the bulkiness of the seams, pullout stitch, flatlock stitch, cover stitch, 4 thread, or 5 thread overlock stitch types can be used. Bonding is highly recommended, but applicability depends on the material type and cost of manufacturing. The neck, armhole, hem, and edges of the panels can be finished using different techniques such as laser-cutting, binding, single turn with flatlock stitching, and using facing or fully lined garments. The choice of the techniques depends on the type of material used and the cost of manufacturing. Fasteners selected from a group consisting of magnetic buttons, Velcro, metallic or plastic snaps can be applied for shoulder and side seams that need adjustability. For the places which do not need adjustability, detachable zippers can be used. Number of fasteners depends on the length and width of the extension and space between two consecutive fasteners. The length of the extended panels at the shoulders and the width of the extended panels at side seams and the hidden panel inside the detachable zipper can be decided to accommodate the needs and wants of the individual. Flock print or Silicon print can be used at the waistband and hem. Silicon tapes are suggested to provide the grip at the shoulder and side seams of upper garments. The present invention can be used as therapeutic Garments, Patient’s hospital gowns, maternity wear, children wear and nightwear. By adopting different styles this invention can be used as Casual tops, Casual Pants, shorts, and briefs for men and women. In addition, this invention can be adapted to men’s, women’s, and children’s Athleisure wear, sportswear, bathing suits as well as formal wear.
