GPS-IMU COLLAR SYSTEM FOR LOCATION DETECTION AND ATTITUDE TRACKING OF ELEPHANTS

A collar for an elephant and an apparatus for monitoring/managing the activity of an elephant are disclosed. The present invention discloses a collar for an elephant that is capable of collecting the location and orientation of elephant transmitting the collected information to a remote server. Identification of the location of the elephant using GPS location of each elephant will be obtained by the collar at regular intervals and transmitted to the server at regular intervals. Further, a notification to the server will be sent when the elephant ventures too close to the fence.Identifying the orientation of the elephant the device will acquire data concerning the orientation of the elephant that is whether it is standing or lying down etc. Any orientation implying sickness or other adversity will be reported to the server.A long battery life and a self-unlocking system will unbuckle the collar after the battery has drained. Analysis and display of data in the server the data from the collars will be collected in a database in a server and will be accessible to authorized parties through a website and a mobile application.
